SUPER HOT SAUCE

Sister Bernadette's Super Hot Sauce offers complex flavor along with moderate heat to brighten your favorite meals. She says:

"I come from Singapore in southeast Asia--we are multi-cultural, and we all love hot sauce! I have drawn on my Singaporean tastes to create a hot sauce that doesn't taste raw and doesn't burn. I use garlic, onions, and tamarind, simmered together with chili paste, to create a smooth, tasty, and delicious sauce that adds plenty of heat without the burn."

Ingredients: Chili paste, onions, garlic, tamarind juice, vinegar; glass jar contains 8 oz net weight

Transfiguration Hermitage: Windsor, Maine

Transfiguration Hermitage is a monastic community following the Rule of St. Benedict, dedicated to a life of prayer for the needs of all people and outreach to anyone seeking spiritual growth. The Benedictine life of prayer and solitude revolves around times of daily prayer together in chapel and solitary prayer in the silence of the hermitage.

The community supports the hermitage by offering retreats and workshops, spiritual direction, and through the generosity of friends and benefactors. They also produce food items for sale, and work at writing or at other tasks consonant with the monastic life.

Founded in 1997 in Thorndike, Maine, Transfiguration Hermitage is now located on a beautiful hill in Windsor, just east of Augusta, Maine's capital city. With acres of rolling hills, woods, meadows, and blueberry fields, a lovely stream and gardens, the Hermitage grounds offer a relaxed, contemplative openness to the beauty of God's creation.
