THE OFFICE OF THE PASSION
OF ST. FRANCIS OF ASSISI

The "Office of the Passion of the Lord" is a devotional Office written by St. Francis of Assisi himself. It consists of 15 "psalms" which are composites of various verses, mostly from the Davidic psalms but also from other parts of scripture and pious sentiment.

This prayer has been used for centuries by members of the Franciscan family (including St. Clare), and is an approved substitute for the Liturgy of the Hours for members of the Secular Franciscan Order.

Newly edited and translated, with instructions for use by Laurent Gallant, OFM and Andre Cirino, OFM, with music by Josef Raischl, SFO, and illustrations by Marcus Lisle and Christine Cavalier.

Many years ago many of the Secular Franciscans in our Fraternity had bought the original hardcover Geste of the King - Office of the Passion of St Francis. It seemed to quickly sell out and has been unavailable for years. We were so happy to have found this soft cover copy - Our Fraternity uses it for opening prayer at our meetings and many use it daily for praying the Office. I give it 5 stars
