Recall the story of Ireland's beloved patron St. Brigid with this 4.5" resin St. Brigid's Cross. Born the daughter of an Irish chieftain circa 453 AD, St. Brigid became a nun whose desire was to relieve the misery and hardship of the poor.
The popular tradition of the woven St. Brigid's cross is based on the story of her visit to a dying pagan chieftain. To illustrate the significance of the Christian faith she quickly wove a simple cross from the rushes strewn on the floor. From that time on, the woven rush cross became synonymous with the saint.
