A Commentary in Light of
World Ascetic Traditions

Mayeul de Dreuille's analysis, commentary, and reflection on the Rule of St. Benedict is informed by his experience working with the formation of young monks and nuns in different cultures and on different continents.

A scholarly work by a leading Benedictine theorist, the book aims to gain a deeper understanding of Benedictine tradition in the light of other monastic traditions -- those of Buddhism and Hinduism in particular -- and to discern by examining with respect and critical sense, the basic values shared among them.
