Abbey of the Genesee: Piffard, New York
The Abbey of the Genesee is a community of over 30 contemplative monks belonging to the world-wide Order of Cistercians of the Strict Observance (O.C.S.O.) more commonly known as Trappists. The Abbey was founded in 1951 from the Abbey of Gethsemani, and is situated in the picturesque Genesee River Valley of Western New York. Within the monastic enclosure are some 1,200 acres of forest, ravines, rolling hills and a meandering creek.
The monks are dedicated to the worship of God in a hidden life within the monastery following the Rule of St. Benedict. The monastic community supports itself by the common work of baking bread and other products. In addition, the brothers help out on the farm and with cooking, laundry, cleaning, hospitality, formation of new members, and care of the sick and elderly of the community. The community is cloistered and has no outside ministry. Guests are received for quiet, private retreats at the retreat house.

Lots of Flavor

I ordered both Parmesan and Asiago cheese crisps and bot are excellent but the Asiago is my favorite. Good texture and plenty of flavor to savor. I've been a fan of Trappist preserves for decades, now this will be a regular for me.

Yummy

Full of cheesy flavor. Great for a snack or crumble on a salad

Taste was delicious..but most of mine were broken/crumbled

Pros: These are excellent. I ordered the asiago crisps and the taste is delicious. If you are gluten free these are a good option in place of traditional crackers.
Cons: Sadly, most of my crisps arrived broken. Only three were intact, the rest were in smaller pieces with a good amount of "crumbles" in the bottom of the bag. I think the packaging/shipping needs improved. Main reason for only three stars.

Cheese Crisps

These are amazing...they are light and carb free which makes them a great snack.

Addictive

The crisps in all flavors are delicious. Put them out for guests and there will not be any left. So you want them for another time, either buy more or put out less.
