This delectably rich lemon butter cake is made from the finest Vermont ingredients: fresh sweet butter, local eggs and buttermilk, and flavored with real lemon juice and zest. While still hot, each cake is pierced and saturated with a lemon sugar glaze, giving it a mouth-wateringly moist interior. Delicious alone or topped with fruit puree. Each cake is approx. 22 oz.
The cake was moist with a very nice lemon flavor. We ate it over the course of several weeks. Just keep it covered and it stays moist and fresh. Some reviewers complained of over-saturation of lemon flavor but the intensity was just right for us. Not overwhelming, just robust enough of a lemon flavor.
I've order a lot of food products on line and this one was an absolute delight. It was everything you want in a cake like buttery, lemony, and so tastey you want to have a slice all day long. Thanks Mission Bakery!
This goes well served with fruit either fresh or pureed and a dollop of cream, creme freche ce cream or sorbet. Yummm!

Sticky-sweet, maybe a bit much for some people but the lemon flavor is intensely wonderful, not artificial-tasting. Cut with some whipped cream is perfect.
