  • I have been buying these caramels for years and giving them as Christmas gifts. I also buy some for myself. The caramel is superb: chewy, neither hard nor soft. Just the way I like them. This year the chocolate covering seems a little harder than in the past, with pieces of chocolate breaking off when bitten. Again, I love hardness that does not break off pieces when bitten, or gooey on my fingers. The taste is the best. Keep making them.

  • I send the chocolate-coated caramels to relatives who live in major cities with famous and heralded candy stores. Nothing beats the Monastery sweets, so I have to reorder for birthdays and other occasions. And, I get to spoil my family in Iowa, too. Delicious.

  • We received this box of caramels as an Easter gift. These caramels are rich and buttery gems coated with milk chocolate or dark chocolate. The candy is carefully packed to hold each piece in place and spaced so they are easily removed. The box is elegant and sturdy, so passing the box around to share the candy is easy. I will be returning to share this as gifts for others. Thanks!
