The Abita Brewing Company of New Orleans created their Abita Abbey Ale (ABV 8%) to honor the ancient tradition of monks who perfected the art of brewing beer to support their monastic endeavor. Dark amber in color, the aroma of caramel, fruits and cloves invites you to contemplate the creamy head of this "Dubbel" abbey-style ale. Abita Abbey Ale is a malty brew, top-fermented and bottle aged to perfection. This ale pairs well with barbecue, and other hearty meat dishes, and is a nice complement to chocolate desserts. Suggested serving temperature is 46 degrees.
Abita offers up their support and thanks to the brothers at nearby St. Joseph's Abbey and Seminary College in Covington, Louisiana with a 25-cent donation from every bottle sold of this heavenly brew. The program has raised thousands of dollars for the monastery, which has provided educational, cultural and spiritual support to those in need for over 100 years.
