Carmel of St. Joseph: Terre Haute, Indiana
Fourteen nuns cloistered within the Carmel of St. Joseph, a Discalced Carmelite monastery south of Terre Haute, Indiana, work, pray, serve the people of the community and serve the Lord in silence and solitude.
Founded in 1947, the purpose of this monastery is unceasing prayer for the needs of the Church. The sisters also practice iconography, photography and calligraphy, and hand-craft prayer gift cards. They share a spirit of joy, sisterly love and cooperation in their purposeful community.
