Made in Virginia from an old-fashioned Southern recipe, the Holy Cross Abbey Monastery Fruitcake is dark, dense and moist, using choice fruits (cherries, pineapple, raisins, dates and papaya) and nut meats (walnuts and pecans) in a brandy-and-sherry-laced batter.
