Based on traditional Eastern iconography, the center panel portrays a peaceful nighttime Nativity. The Virgin holds the infant Jesus, accompanied by ox, ass and sheep, with the star of Bethlehem overhead. On the left panel are Joseph and three blue angels who herald the birth. On the right panel three more angels and Mary's birth attendants all look on. Gold and silver foil highlights. 4 7/8 " X 7 3/8 " closed; span of 10 1/8 " open. Attractive gift box.

HOLY FAMILY TRIPTYCH
In vibrant colors, this triptych depicts the Holy Family flanked by two angels, one holding a dove (the symbol of peace) and another holding lilies (symbols of both purity of the Virgin Mary and the presence of Christ). The Russian inscription in the center panel translates as: "Nativity of Christ." 4-3/4" x 7-1/8" closed; span of 10-1/4" open. Gift box included.
