OUR LADY OF PERPETUAL HELP
Painted in the Byzantine tradition using egg tempera paint with gold leaf gilding, and adhering to the iconographical canons of the Christian Faith, this contemporary icon portrays the Virgin Mother and Baby Jesus flanked by angels bearing a scroll and a cross. This particular type of icon -- usually referred to as "of the Passion" --shows the Lord held in His Mother's arms and looking up at one of the two angels that are carrying the instruments of His Passion which will come to pass many years in the future. 9" X 12"
