THE HIDDEN LIFE (DVD)
The Story of the Sisters of St. Mary
This documentary presents a unique opportunity to see inside the enclosed Christian monastic women's community at St. Mary's Convent in Greenwich, New York.
They live separated from the material values of society. To most, they represent an archaic way of life that is beyond understanding.
St. Mary's Convent is home to the oldest community of Episcopal nuns founded in America. Despite all precedent, the Sisters break a 135 year tradition of silence to share the journey that has led them to this life and explain what it means to them today. Whatever your interest in Christian spirituality, you will find their stories inspiring and very human. They hope that in the telling, others might be stirred to look within themselves to find deeper meaning in their own lives. As seen on PBS: 58 minutes.
