THE PATH TO THE BEAUTIFUL
The Porcelain of Brother Thomas
The Path to the Beautiful introduces us to the life and art of a great American treasure. This book is a portrait gallery of porcelains, each as striking in its individuality as a human face. Thomas' illuminating essay and his commentary on particular pieces enhance our understanding of the artist and provoke us to think anew about art and beauty. Over 60 color reproductions and several pages of commentary are a wonderful introduction to the artist's early work.

OFFERINGS OF THE SPIRIT
Tributes to Brother Thomas
For many years -- nearly two decades -- Brother Thomas has created a body of work in the form of plates, bowls, chargers. Every two years new works would emerge and would be placed alongside that which had come before. These basic forms have become a collection and a means of experiencing one part of his extraordinary search for the Beautiful. After 50 years of life as a potter and 20 years as a beloved participant in the life of Pucker Gallery (Boston, Massachusetts), the Gallery wanted to honor the man, the work and his spirit. A professor has his students and disciples to prepare a celebratory collection of articles; a potter has a wide range of colleagues, friends, and admirers. It is to this diverse body of voices that the Gallery turned for their "offering" to Brother Thomas, presented in this volume, Offerings of the Spirit.

THIS IS THE DAY
Work and Words of Brother Thomas
The first Book of Days from Brother Thomas -- Celebrate the Days -- was so wonderfully received, it demanded another. Brother Thomas' correspondence remains a resource of wisdom: Biblical, prophetic and wise. His perceptions about life, art, beauty and the spirit continue to nourish.
This is the day the Lord has made,
We greet it with Joy and Gladness
- Psalms 118:24
The affirmation of the gift of each day is reinforced by the following from the morning prayer service:
How great is our Joy!
How good is our portion!
How pleasant our lot!
How beautiful our heritage!
Brother Thomas' works and words remind us of how blessed we are.
