SISTERS
Portrait of a Benedictine Community
Sisters is a special, inside look at the life of a community of Benedictine nuns. In this one-hour documentary (premiered on Public Television's Independent Lens in 2005), several sisters of the St. Scholastica Monastery in Duluth, Minnesota, share their experiences and feelings about monastic life, and their insights about the future of the monastery. The producers had the privilege of interviewing and filming the sisters over a two-year period as they worked, prayed, sang, socialized, and served the community together. Sisters is a unique glimpse into a sometimes-misunderstood world and portrays the sisters of St. Scholastica Monastery in all their complexity and humanity.
