NORTHWEST ALDER
PLANK GRILLING KIT
A cooking tradition that began as a Native American way to prepare fish over an open fire, planks today are used on grills or in conventional ovens to give fish and meat a delightful flavor. These planks are hand-cut from native alder trees on the grounds of St. Joseph Carmelite Monastery and can be used many, many times. Popular in the Northwest, alder is a hardwood used widely for the subtle, sweet taste it gives to fish and poultry. The St. Benedict spice rub and grilling sauce are blended by the monastery and can be used individually or together, depending on the recipe. Also includes a 14" barbeque brush and collection of 8 tested recipes with grilling tips. Plank is approx. 1" thick, 9" wide and 18" long.
Use on your grill or in your oven!
